Subscription & Auto-Renewal Terms

These Subscription & Auto-Renewal Terms apply to all recurring subscriptions sold on Astra (Pro, Pro+, Creator, B2B Embed). They are designed to comply with California's Automatic Renewal Law (Bus. & Prof. Code §§ 17600-17606), similar US state ARL laws (Oregon, New York, Vermont, Minnesota, Illinois, Connecticut, North Carolina, Maine, Tennessee, Hawaii, Wisconsin), the EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU) with Modernisation Directive (2019/2161) amendments, Germany's "Kündigungsbutton" requirement under § 312k BGB, France's Code de la Consommation Art. L.215-1, Australia's ACL fair-trading provisions, UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, and Japan's Act on Specified Commercial Transactions.

1. Auto-renewal — what you are agreeing to

Your subscription will automatically renew at the end of each billing period until you cancel. The renewal charge is the then-current price for the same plan, billed to the payment method on file, on the anniversary of your first paid renewal (monthly or annual depending on plan).

By starting a subscription you expressly acknowledge and consent to:

• the recurring nature of the charge,
• the recurring amount or method by which the amount will be calculated,
• the recurring billing period, and
• the cancellation procedure (see § 5).

2. Plans and pricing

The current plans, their billing periods, and their prices are shown on /pricing and on the checkout page. Standard plans as of the last-updated date:

Prices are exclusive of tax and may differ in your local currency per the Payment Terms § 2.

3. Introductory and promotional pricing

We offer introductory pricing on certain plans. The introductory period is clearly disclosed at checkout, for example:

"$9 first month then $49/month unless cancelled." "Free 7-day trial then $49/month unless cancelled."

Specifically:

• The standard renewal price is shown next to the introductory price at checkout.
• The introductory period auto-converts to the standard price unless you cancel before the introductory period ends.
• You can find your renewal date and current price in Settings → Billing.

4. Renewal-reminder notice

For monthly plans we send a renewal-reminder email at least 7 days before each renewal. For annual plans we send a reminder at least 30 days before renewal (and additionally 7 days before to satisfy state ARL minimums). The reminder includes the amount, the date, and a one-click link to cancel.

If your jurisdiction requires longer notice (e.g. California's ARL for free trials that auto-convert), we follow the longer notice period.

5. How to cancel

You can cancel your subscription at any time, with no fee, by:

1. Settings → Billing → Cancel subscription in your account (one click). This is our primary cancellation method and satisfies the "online cancellation" requirement of California ARL § 17602(c) and equivalents.
2. Email: hello@astraplatform.ai with subject "Cancel subscription".
3. In-product cancellation flow for Pro / Pro+ plans takes no more than two screens.
4. Germany users may use the "Verträge hier kündigen" one-click button required by § 312k BGB; same flow as (1).

We do not require you to call, chat, or send postal mail to cancel.

After you cancel, you continue to have access through the end of the current billing period; no refund is owed for the unused portion unless you exercised your EU 14-day right of withdrawal or another statutory carve-out applies (see Refund Policy).

6. Free trials

Where a free trial is offered:

• The trial length and the auto-conversion are disclosed at sign-up.
• We email 3 days before the trial converts.
• You can cancel any time during the trial in Settings → Billing.

7. Price changes

We may change subscription prices. For existing subscribers we will email the new price at least 30 days before it takes effect. You can cancel before the new price applies; otherwise continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

8. Refunds

By default subscription fees are non-refundable for partial periods after the EU 14-day right of withdrawal has lapsed or been waived. See the Refund Policy for the carve-outs that do apply, including:

• 14-day EU/UK consumer withdrawal right (lost only if you expressly waive by starting a paid reading or generating paid content during the period).
• 30-day "first impression" goodwill refund on first-time monthly subscriptions where less than 30 minutes of voice has been used.
• Annual-plan pro-rated refund within first 30 days if you have not downloaded any premium offline content.

9. Failed renewal payments

If a renewal payment fails we retry up to four times over fourteen days and email you to update your payment method. After fourteen days, your subscription auto-cancels with no late fee.
