Tools for reflection, not prediction

Astrology & Divination Disclaimer

Last updated: 2026-05-14 · These terms are reviewed by Astra periodically and effective on the Last updated date above.

This disclaimer applies to every divination feature on Astra — tarot, Western astrology, BaZi (八字), Zi Wei Dou Shu (紫微斗数), I Ching (易经), numerology, zodiac, dreams, oracle decks, daily readings, compatibility, "what's next" and any future system we add. Read alongside the Voice AI Disclosure, Terms of Service, and Crisis & Safety documents.

1. Reflection, not prediction

Astrology, tarot, BaZi, Zi Wei, I Ching, numerology, and similar practices are symbolic systems for self-reflection, not scientifically validated methods of prediction. There is no peer-reviewed evidence that these systems forecast the future, diagnose physical or mental illness, or identify objective truths about another person.

Astra does not predict the future. We will never promise you an outcome ("you will meet them in two months", "the job is yours"). If any reader, AI persona, or piece of platform content seems to be promising an outcome, please report it — that is a violation of our Community Guidelines and we will act on it.

2. What these tools are good for

  • Naming feelings and patterns
  • Reframing a question
  • Surfacing intuition
  • Cultural learning and aesthetic delight
  • A starting point for journaling, conversation, or therapy

These traditions have thousands of years of cultural and psychological depth. They reward sitting with a question, not treating the answer as a forecast.

3. What these tools are NOT a substitute for

Astra divination content is not:

  • Medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Do not use a reading to diagnose, prevent, or treat any condition. Speak to a licensed physician, psychiatrist, or therapist.
  • Mental-health treatment or crisis intervention. Astra is not a crisis service (see § 5 below).
  • Legal advice. Speak to a qualified attorney.
  • Financial, tax, investment, or insurance advice. Speak to a qualified financial professional. Past performance of a market is not predicted by transit charts.
  • Relationship counselling. Speak to a licensed couples therapist.
  • Spiritual direction from a qualified clergyperson in your tradition.
  • Career advice that you should act on without independent judgement.

If your situation involves any of the above and you want guidance, speak to a real qualified human in that field.

4. How to use a reading well

  • Bring a real question, not a yes/no demand.
  • Listen for what surprises you — symbol-based reflection works by associative resonance, not by content accuracy.
  • Notice your reaction more than the words.
  • Take what is useful; leave what is not.
  • Do not make major life decisions (marriage, divorce, medical treatment, business, immigration, custody) on a reading alone.
  • Use journaling, sleep, and conversation with people who know you to test what the reading surfaced.

5. Crisis carve-out

Astra is not a crisis intervention service. If you are in immediate danger, contact emergency services right now.

The Platform is not equipped to handle suicidal crisis, intimate- partner violence, child abuse, acute psychotic episodes, medical emergencies, or similar acute situations. Our AI and our human readers will, on detecting a crisis signal, pivot to crisis- support scripting and surface the hotline numbers below, but they are not a substitute for emergency or professional care.

6. Automatic crisis routing on Astra

We classify chat and voice content for high-risk language (self-harm intent, threats, abuse). On detection:

  1. The AI or reader is prompted to pause and to surface the relevant hotline.
  2. The user is shown a non-dismissible Crisis Support card with regional hotlines and the directory link.
  3. A signal is logged for Astra Trust & Safety. We do not share user identity with hotlines or authorities unless required by valid legal order.
  4. Reader sessions with detected crisis indicators are paused for a safety check by the reader before the session resumes.

You can read our internal crisis-routing classifier policy in the Crisis & Safety document.

7. Cultural respect

We take care with traditions that come from cultures other than our own. Where we publish content on BaZi, Zi Wei, I Ching, Vedic astrology, indigenous practices, or other traditions, we credit sources and avoid presenting our interpretation as the only authentic reading. We welcome corrections at hello@astraplatform.ai.

8. AI may produce inaccurate output

Even when used for reflection, AI may produce inaccurate, biased, hallucinated, or culturally insensitive output. We are continuously improving the safety prompts but no AI is perfect. See the Voice AI Disclosure for full detail.

9. Children

Divination content is not intended for users under 13. Users 13-17 have read-only access to public divination content and cannot participate in monetised readings, voice sessions, or live broadcasts (see Safety & Age Policy).

10. Questions

These terms are reviewed by Astra periodically and effective on the Last updated date above. For a real-world crisis, please call emergency services or one of the hotlines above.
