Reader Marketplace Agreement

This Reader Marketplace Agreement is the commercial framework for the Astra marketplace — what Astra offers, what is sold, how disputes work. The Reader Agreement is the individual-reader contract; the Community Guidelines govern conduct.

Astra operates a marketplace where independent readers offer divination, astrology, BaZi, and reflection services to seekers. Astra is not a party to the reading itself — we provide the platform, the discovery, the payment rails, and the safety net.

1. Your status

You are an independent practitioner, not an Astra employee. You set your hours, your style, your prices (within platform tiers), your refusal-of-service standards (within community guidelines).

2. What Astra provides

Profile + booking system + scheduling
Voice-AI assist tools (transcription, prompt scaffolds)
Trust & safety: identity verification, dispute moderation, fraud detection
Payments: card processing, payout, currency conversion, tax forms
Discovery: listing in /readers, search, recommendations

3. Your obligations

3.1 Honesty

Disclose training, lineage, certifications accurately. "Self-taught" is fine; faking a teacher or credential is not.

3.2 Reflection, not prediction

Astra is built on the principle that divination tools are mirrors for the asker, not crystal balls. You agree to:

Never guarantee outcomes
Never give medical, legal, financial, psychiatric advice
Refer to professionals when topics exceed your scope
Activate crisis protocols when a seeker is at risk (script in the reader handbook)

3.3 Boundaries

No off-platform payment requests
No romantic/sexual contact with seekers
No deepening "dependence" through urgency tactics ("you need to rebook urgently or…")
No exploiting grief or addiction

3.4 Confidentiality

Treat reading content as confidential. Don't share specifics with anyone, including socially. Anonymized reflections in your own content are fine when you have explicit consent.

4. Payments

Platform fee: 30% of session payment. 70% to you.
Payment held in escrow until session completes successfully + 24h dispute window.
Disputes: refund decisions made by Astra trust team within 5 business days; both parties heard; criteria documented in internal SOPs.
Chargebacks: if a seeker chargebacks, we attempt to recover; your payout for that session is held until resolved.

5. Verification

Required before listing:

Government ID + selfie match
Sample reading audit (15-min recorded session reviewed)
Background check in regulated markets

Re-verification annually or on category change.

6. Content rights

You retain ownership of your reading content. You grant Astra a license to:

Display in your profile and search results
Use anonymized snippets for marketing if you opt in
Train internal AI tools only if you opt in (separate setting)

7. Termination

You can leave at any time with 30 days' notice (we'll honor already-booked sessions). We can suspend/terminate for:

Violation of these terms or community guidelines
Pattern of low ratings + verified complaints
Failed re-verification
Six months of inactivity (with notice)

8. Liability

Astra is not liable for the content or outcome of your readings. Each reader carries their own professional risk; we strongly recommend professional liability insurance in your jurisdiction.
